Windows taking too long to start up?

February 01, 2008 By: xpertanywhere Category: Software, Tech Tips

One of my biggest pet peeves is how long my Windows system takes to start up. It’s mostly due to all my startup programs, which I all need running, so I don’t want to disable them.

Yet until ALL my programs have fully started, trying to use my computer while start up programs are still loading is a real pain. The computer is extremely slow, sometimes unresponsive.

For a long time now I wished that there was a way that I can tell Windows which start up programs I want loaded right away, and which can wait a few minutes to load.

Some of my start up programs I only need to use here and there. I don’t need them the moment I start up Windows.

I finally found a freeware program that scans all my start up items and provides an easy way to “delay” the startup of specific programs!

This software is called Startup Delayer, and it’s probably one of the most useful freeware tools out there.

With Startup Delayer, you can set a custom delay (in seconds or minutes) for each startup program, and you can easily modify the order and adjust delay times.

You can also easily disable startup programs using this software, making it a useful tool for also managing which startup programs you want to load at all.

Startup Delayer is compatible with Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista, and can be downloaded for free from r2 Studios.
